Think about the world-changing people you admire most for a moment.
These people can be from any field or walk of life. It doesn’t matter. Just think about the truly remarkable people you look up to most.
Now think about how each of these people got to where they are today.
Did any of them just wake up one day as a world-changer? Did any of them become remarkable overnight?
No, the people you admire most probably worked their asses off to get to where they are today. They spent year after year honing their skills and practicing their craft.
To become truly remarkable, you have to be the best at something special. You have to do something above average.
This is why you need a relentless pursuit.
A relentless pursuit is something you commit to with your whole being. A relentless pursuit is something you spend year after year chasing, so that in 5 or 10 or 20 years from now you can truly be considered a world-class expert.
A relentless pursuit requires focus and persistence and dedication. Your relentless pursuit has to become automatic, like brushing your teeth or drinking water. You have to do it every day without question.
Anything less than a relentless pursuit of your goals won’t get you where you want to go.
Now ask yourself: what’s your relentless pursuit?
What will you be known for?

As for me, my relentless pursuit is on my internet entrepreneur. I want to wake up a day and see that a big coy just offered me $400M to invest in my coy!
To wake up in 4 years time and be told my internet coy is worth more than a billion dollars.
I’m pursuing it with all my might because I WANT IT SO BAD!
Sheyi
Great post Corbett. Whenever I think of the phrase “relentless pursuit”, my brain always seems to fill in the end with “of perfection”.
Personally my relentless pursuit is wanting to do something that makes a difference in my work online by affecting the lives of as many people as possible.
There’s a lot of people (like yourself) that have built online businesses around providing value to people and inspiring them to do something that matters.
That is what I’m also pursuing relentlessly – and my measure of success is the number of people I can help do the same.
I’m with you on that one Jon
Right on the money today!
Another thing I am doing to keep this pursuit alive and well is to write it all down and hang it up on my wall. Each day I need to look at it and read it allowed. The book, Think and grow rich, talks about this a lot.
It seems it really doesn’t matter what it is that you are pursuing it is more about being relentless in pursuing it. Granted if you are not smart with what you pursue it will be harder, but if put your head down and not look up until you have met your pursuit, good things will happen.
Most of the time the pursuit evolves into something even better than what you started with. The key for me is, NOT STOPPING!
There is a real sense in which such pursuits are not chosen. Instead, the pursuit chooses us.
Thanks from France for this great and inspiring blog, my retlentess pursuit is wanting to become an anti money laundering expert.
Unless you’re a scanner. Then you choose one major pursuit and a few minor ones, too!
Yeah I’m with you on this one. I have trouble finding one passion to stick with. I have so many interests and don’t want to be pigeon-holed.
But if there is one underlying theme then maybe it’s creativity. And that gets expressed and pursued in different ways over time.
I agree with you Adam about finding it hard to narrow down your passions and not wanting to get pigeon-holed. I think if you look closely, you will find a more focused theme rather than just creativity.
I also feel that my focus is creativity, but more specifically, creating physical objects. I do computer stuff too, but I really like creating useful objects.
As time goes on, I think our passion either gets more defined or we tune out the good to make way for the great
I’m in relentless pursuit of developing a better character. This journey has taken me from living on the streets to many momentous adventures. Everything I have in my arsenal are self-taught. Life is my university and where I seek to graduate.
By changing ourselves we gain the ability to change the world.
The key in the pursuit is to never abandon yourself.
I’ve been using that phrase for a long time and couldn’t agree more. I use it in conjunction with the principles of the Law of Attraction. Teaching people that it is TOTALLY possible to become ANYTHING you want to be. I’m living proof that a relentless pursuit can turn you from “nothin to somethin”… anyone can achieve anything.
Here’s my question: can you have a multi-pronged pursuit? Can you become expert in about five areas under one or two niches? Or do you need to put all your eggs in one basket. I’m curious to hear other’s responses. I’ve narrowed down my pursuits to a couple of areas. Now it’s a matter of continuing to relentlessly pursue them.
I don’t think you need to limit yourself to one thing, especially if there is some creative overlap.
Still working towards finding my relentless pursuit. I guess that’s my pursuit.
To find what my pursuit is…
It’s been a painful trek so far…
Hey Matt, don’t give up! Think of it as a voyage of discovery.
Also, I can say from my own experience that it’s pretty valuable to know what *isn’t* your thing, too. That way, you keep moving forward rather than unwittingly staying stuck or accepting what’s just barely OK. Just some encouragement and my 2 cents.
My relentless pursuit is to change the face of business and help others blurrrr the lines between work and play…a culture where we actively help people find their G(enius) spot and operate with a smart-on for what they really, really care about.
It is amazing how many people don’t have a relentless pursuit or even a pursuit they kinda like. Too many people dull themselves with too much TV and brain-numbing activities that leave them no time to find out what they are really passionate about. Most people just don’t believe they can be great at something. Thanks for reminding us.
A relentless pursuit is what puts the magic in your life.
Comfort and security are what our society teaches. We teach children to get good educations so they can get good jobs so they can make good money. It doesn’t matter what they love and if we do, we always tell them to have a plan B.
We view game changers (entrepreneurs/world changers) as ‘special people’. This is laughable. We are made of the same cloth as our comfortable counterparts…only one thing is different and that is our relentless pursuit.
Thanks for your great content.
